Electric Current Through the Frame

Verse

Subway doors part at a single click.

Your shoulder brushes my wrist.

Neon glow paints stripes on the concrete block.

I watch it catch in your eyes.

The train lurches forward, pulling the night.

Every second weighs heavier than gravity.

I'm not sure where we're headed yet.

Just a current running through us both.

Nothing that happened has to mean anything.

Still I feel my heart beat like a pulse.

Pre-Chorus

So tell me now if you feel it too.

If you feel the whole room pull toward this color.

Pulling every light into its hue.

Can you see what's already here waiting for us, humming through?

Chorus

Do you feel electric, do you feel alive tonight?

Is this the way we let our bodies find the current?

Current running through the frame, do you feel it move like a flame.

Moving in the same light.

Am I moving toward your heartbeat.

Or are you moving toward mine.

Can't tell yet but I don't care.

We're chasing the spark down the station, and I'll ride every single mile that we share.

Do you feel electric?

Current running through the frame.

Are we already here.

Moving in the same light.

Moving.

Verse

Sirens cut out and streetlights flicker weakly to life.

Your hand finds mine like it was written in the dark.

We step into a crowded room filled with strangers.

But I can see every single face fall silent for one second.

No one knows you yet, but they feel the hum.

Bass line trembles through the floorboards, and we move as one.

I don't know your name but I know what's running between us.

Nothing in the world has ever felt so warm and alive.

Moving.

Bridge

Maybe it's not where we come from that matters.

Maybe it's just how close we move.

Not which street or which town, not how long this took.

Just two bodies humming in sync like every other heartbeat I've ever heard before and after that one.

I'm not lost in the crowd.

I'm not alone.
