Bitter Snow 2 (Version 2)

Verse

Paper towel roll stands like a flagpole

Last of the hot coffee in the cup

You said you'll write me when the weather breaks

Fence still white, and every snowflake looks different

I'm standing here where the cold air cuts

Pre-Chorus

We used to watch the snow from inside that room

Now the windows are a little smaller too

It's easy to let go of everything but you

Chorus

Bitter snow falling soft on my face

Turning winter into an empty space

I wish I could catch every single flake

Verse

Your jacket hangs on the hook still

Your scarf's draped over the chair

Every window shows a different view

The wind stirs and it starts to sing

Pre-Chorus

We used to watch the snow from inside that room

Now the windows are a little smaller too

It's easy to let go of everything but you

Chorus

Bitter snow falling soft on my face

Turning winter into an empty space

I wish I could catch every single flake

Bridge

Maybe this is just what drifts away

Not us, not the way we used to be

Pre-Chorus

We used to watch the snow from inside that room

Now the windows are a little smaller too

It's easy to let go of everything but you

Chorus

Bitter snow falling soft on my face

Turning winter into an empty space

I wish I could catch every single flake

Outro

Soft on my face

Every single flake
