Sublevel Wait State lyrics
Verse
Amber light on the breaker panel
Diesel drum, quarter full
Rack hums low behind the chain-link
Ready light, ready light, waiting still
Fans turn slow in the coolant duct
Cable trays hold their line
Standby power, never called
Green won't come, amber stays behind
Pre-Chorus
Tell me when the switch will throw
Tell me if the mains will fail
Tell me why the counter holds
Steady on the same amber trail
Chorus
Sublevel wait state, humming still
Sublevel wait state, standing by
Never called, never failed
Sublevel wait state
Verse
Fluorescent tube ticks in the stairwell
Badge reader blinks then goes dark
Sensor logs the same dead reading
Every hour, same cold mark
Concrete sweats where the vents exhale
Numbers climb then reset to one
Nothing trips, nothing switches
Backup running, primary never done
Pre-Chorus
Tell me when the switch will throw
Tell me if the mains will fail
Tell me why the counter holds
Steady on the same amber trail
Chorus
Sublevel wait state, humming still
Sublevel wait state, standing by
Never called, never failed
Sublevel wait state
Bridge
Breaker holds
Amber holds
Never green
Never green
Amber holds
Amber holds
Chorus
Sublevel wait state, humming still
Sublevel wait state, standing by
Never called, never failed
Sublevel wait state
